Hello,
I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2005. I continued my education at the University of North Texas and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2007. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a license through the state of Texas in Speech-Language Pathology
I bring a variety of experience to my speech therapy practice. Upon graduation from UNT, I worked as a speech therapist with adults. I shifted my focus to pediatrics and worked as a speech therapist at the June Shelton School in Dallas and Plano ISD. While at Plano ISD, I volunteered with the Texas Speech-Hearing Association (TSHA). With TSHA, I completed the Leadership Program as a mentee and then as a mentor. I then joined the committee for assistive technology and alternative-augmentative communication. Looking to expand my experience and challenge myself as an SLP, I began working in the area of home health. My experience in home health allowed me to work with various ages and techniques.
With more than 15 years of experience, I have developed many skills that enable me to ensure growth in each client I works with. I have a wide knowledge in working with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) Devices, as well as being trained in PECS Level 1. I also use play-based therapy and evidence-based practice in my sessions. I am eager to collaborate with both new and existing clients, fostering lasting progress and delivering outstanding service.
